Delivery

Can I choose my delivery day?

You can choose the delivery day that suits you best.  We deliver seven days per week.  First add your produce to your basket, then at checkout you will be directed to the delivery page where you can choose your delivery day.

Our partners operate independently and occasionally some of our suppliers may not be able to meet your delivery day due to their opening hours.  If we can’t fulfill your requested delivery day, we’ll email you as soon as we can to check if there’s another day we can deliver your produce on.

Which time slots can I choose?

We offer daytime and evening delivery, you can choose which you’d prefer.  Daytime deliveries will be delivered between 8am and 5pm.  Evening deliveries will be delivered between 5pm and 9pm.

We’ll contact you in advance of your order to confirm your delivery slot.

What are your delivery charges?

We are offering free daytime delivery throughout October and evening delivery for just £3.

Our standard delivery charges are just £3 for daytime delivery.  We charge just £2 extra for an evening delivery.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver to Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire.  We aim to expand to surrounding counties very soon.  Enter your postcode to check if we currently cover your area and to find the best artisan food providers near you.

Do I need to be home to receive my delivery?

If you cannot be at home when your order is to be delivered please tick the box to indicate this during the order process.  You can choose to have your delivery left with a neighbour or you can choose to have it left in a safe place.  Please give us as much detail as possible for any special delivery instructions to help our driver leave your produce safe for you.

If you will be out for a long time please leave a cool box with a couple of ice packs in your safe place to keep your frozen and chilled items from degrading while you are out.

Do you carry out contact-free delivery?

All our deliveries are carried out in a contact-free manner to ensure that our drivers and customers remain safe from, and do not transmit, Covid-19.  Our process is for our driver to leave your grocery bags and/or boxes on your doorstep, then knock on the door and wait, at a distance of two metres, for you to bring the grocery delivery inside your house.  If you don’t answer the door our driver will call the phone number you provided at checkout to alert you of the delivery.

Who will deliver my order?

Your order will be delivered by one of our friendly Local Grocers delivery drivers. We only use drivers who we know and trust.

Can I change my delivery day or time?

If you need to change your delivery day or slot please contact us as soon as you can.  We try to facilitate all customer requests however it will not always be possible to make the change requested.

Our Partners

How do you select suppliers to work with?

We aim to provide the highest quality of produce and so we only partner with the finest artisan providers.  We aim to ensure high welfare and select food providers that meet with our expectations.  Finally, our mission is to provide an alternative to supermarkets and encourage shopping locally and so we select partners who can help provide your full weekly shop.

Do you supply free-range meat?

We aim to only partner with food providers who supply free-range meat to high welfare standards.  Local Grocers believe strongly that all meat should be free range so we try to select our partners accordingly.  Each of our partners has their own standards so please feel free to check the description of each store to check that they provide free-range meat.  The description of each item should also list whether or not the produce is free-range.

Do you guarantee high welfare?

At Local Grocers one of our core principles is to deliver high welfare and high-quality produce to our customers.  We achieve this by carefully selecting our suppliers and only partnering with those who we believe meet our high welfare standards.
