Italian Classic Panettone – Casa Rinaldi – 750 g
Taking origins from northern Italy, city of Milan, it comes with a number stories.
The word “Panettore” comes from “Panetto” a word that identifies a small loaf cake. From there, an augmentative suffix “-one” turns the meaning to something like “Large Cake”.
Historical roots of this cake appear to be very ancient, dating even to the Romans’ Empire, when some baker artesans decided to sweeten this leavened cake with butter and honey.
